IN THE PRESS

Michael Presley Bobbitt’s original script about life, love, regret and redemption in a seedy north Florida trailer park is crisp, fast-moving and extremely funny without being the least bit patronizing. One more thing about Trailer Park Elegy- in its own way it is as profound and insightful a commentary about modern life as "1984".

Last year, Bobbitt roared into the Gainesville  theatre scene as both a director, writer and actor with his original play, Across the River. As a  writer he has an uncanny ability to ice-pick a brain, shake up a scene, and draw out human emotion from the most impenetrable among us.

In "Sunset Village", Bobbitt has written and produced a play that is so crisp and wicked, so contemporary and charmingly disarming that one wonders what the Acrosstown hopes to do by way of an encore for the rest of its season.

Yeah, it really is that funny.
